Traditional Thai Stretch

WHAT IS TRADITIONAL THAI STRETCHING?

Traditional Thai stretching, often called "lazy yoga" or Nuat Phaen Thai, is a, clothed, floor-based therapeutic practice combining deep, passive yoga-like stretches with acupressure along energy lines (Sen Sib). Performed on a mat, therapists use their hands, knees, legs, and feet to maneuver the recipient into positions that improve flexibility, release chronic tension, and enhance energy flow.

BENEFITS OF THAI STRETCHING

  • Enhanced Flexibility: Actively stretches muscles and improves range of motion.
  • Pain Relief: Alleviates chronic tension, particularly in the back and hips.
  • Stress Reduction: The rhythmic, flowing nature of the movements promotes deep relaxation.
  • Improved Circulation: The combination of stretching and pressure boosts circulation and energy flow.
